aboutMallard
Mallards are the breed that everyone thinks of when they think of ducks! While they are typically a "wild" breed, we have one mallard that calls Triple Moon Farm home! Mallards are typically shades of brown in color. Both males and females have colorful feathers on their wings, and males have a green head. They weigh between 1.5-4 pounds, with males weighing more than females. When keeping mallards, it is important to note that they may NOT be captured from the wild. Captive mallards must be obtained from reputable breeders and registered with Fish and Wildlife, assuming it is legal to keep them in your state.
